Vinnie Fiorello
Vinnie Fiorello was born and raised in North Central New Jersey up through his teenage years, then settled down in Gainesville, Florida for college. He's a self-taught drummer that learned by listening to old Slayer, Ramones and Minor Threat records and sitting in the basement with his brother who played guitar.
Vinnie founded Less than Jake over 14 years ago, with his two roommates, sticking to their "do it yourself" ethics by screen-printing their own tee shirts and booking their own tours. Playing over a 150 shows a year, Less than Jake found itself playing the main stage on dozens of European festivals, as well as playing the main stage at the Carling Reading/Leeds Festival two years in a row. LTJ have shared the stage with such punk legends as the Descendents and pop punkers Green Day, New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, and No Doubt, as well as ‘80s rockers Bon Jovi and Nu metallers Korn and Linkin Park. They've even toured with Snoop Dogg. They've also been involved with the Warped Tour for 7 years while sharing the stage with way too many bands in-between to list here.
When Vinnie is not behind the kit he's behind the scenes co-owning indy label Fueled By Ramen and owning his own toy company called Monkey Versus Robot. He focuses his energy on LTJ's merch and compact disc artwork as well as art directing personally for both of the businesses.
There are lots of lessons to be learned from having 16 years of touring experience in Less Than Jake and a few million records sold through his co-owned Fueled By Ramen under his belt.
“I've put out records and marketed the brand of Fueled By Ramen from the inception of the label, ultimately it was the balance between the original vision of equal parts passion for music and a love for business that led me to leave the label at the peak of popularity. I've stood by the lessons I've learned growing up inside the DYI punk community: play music for the love of music, when no one wants to help your band you do it yourself, and just because its a multi million dollar company that doesn't mean they know how to market your band(s) any better then you do.”
As a burgeoning business figure overseeing many dimensions of modern music and its surrounding culture and related lifestyle, Vinnie is an engaging personality who draws on a wealth of street-smart knowledge and experience. As an event speaker, he is the type of person who is invaluable to everyone from garage band upstarts to music industry CEOs. Vinnie is available to deliver conference keynote addresses, lectures, panel discussions, etc.
